Pixie Cut

( click on photo for larger images )

( upper left: front view, lower left: back view, center: front/side view, upper right: after chopping over 13 inches off, lower right: getting ready for a big transformation!)

Shaila had really long hair that was driving her nuts! She wasn't happy with the style and was in the habit of pulling it into a ponytail every day.

She was ready for a HUGE change.

When she came to me she wasn't sure if she should go chin length bob or super, super short.

(I was secretly hoping she'd choose to go super short!)

But I wanted her to make the right decision for her. I love a good hair challenge.

I talked to her about the pro's and cons of both, and told her that she needed to be comfortable with whatever decision was made. Hair decisions are a big deal!

Shaila decided to go for it! Yay, I got my way:)

And I was beyond excited to transform her hair into this adorable pixie cut.

Adding Curl

Roz has thick hair with waves underneath, but not a lot of waves on top. She really wanted to go curlier,  but not too curly! She wanted to be able to straighten it still if she wanted, or to make it more curly by scrunching. She also wanted to be able to curl it and for it to actually hold the curl.

I chose to use a purple rod in her hair and use a solution that would give her a medium hold. Thus, a bigger curl with not too much springiness.

With these curls she will be able to do everything she wants to with it!

After the perm was complete I ended up cutting about 4 inches off her length and added soft layers that would compliment her curls.

It turned out really cute and will be so versatile.

The pic that inspired Roz. So cute!

Right after the cut. Super cute curls!

Once she got home and got used to styling it the way she liked, I received these photos via e-mail. Thanks! I really like the layers with the curls. Nicely done :)

I hope you love your new do, Roz!
